P.S. I Love You - Cecelia Ahern

Holly and Gerry were the perfect couple. They met as children and had been together for years. They lived inside their own fairytale world until Gerry was diagnosed with a brain tumour.

After Gerry passes away, Holly discovers that he left 10 notes for her - one for each month left in the year - and each contains a different task for each month that Gerry wants her to do.

P.S. I Love You is heartbreaking, following Holly's journey through loss and grief, and her inability to move on from her husband. Along with her friends, she does everything that Gerry has told her to do in the notes, leading her on a journey of discovery, fun and laughter.

The novel is quite hopeful. It shows the hope that death isn't the end because all the way through the novel Holly still has Gerry with her - in note form. Even after Gerry died, Holly still laughs with him and she still goes on adventures with him. It's a cosy read, filled with love.

Although this is one of Ahern's most popular novels, I did find it quite slow in places and that the plot was just lacking. It might just be because I'm used to her more recent books and her style has changed over the years. It isn't my favourite book by Ahern, but it was still a good read.

Give it a read for yourself to see how you feel about it.
